I graduated from the Interaction Design program at Sheridan college in 2024. During my time at school I gained a passion for inclusive design. My interest in inclusive design drives me to engage in projects about accessibility. My goal is to create designs that help people who are in the margins of society. I, myself have a physical disability so this drive comes from an understanding that people like me are often left behind. To create good design you need to include everyone.
During my co-op term I worked as an interaction designer for the Life Skills Project, I worked in a team to create interactive learning material for unhoused single parents. For my thesis project I challenged myself by redesigning Google Maps to make finding information about the accessibility of establishments easy. I’ve volunteered at Holland Bloorview Children’s rehabilitation hospital and worked with teenagers with disabilities. I know that the key to being an effective designer is learning from different people. My favourite part of being a designer is being curious and taking a step outside your own thinking.
